Salt Lake Events and Festivals

Whether you’re a Salt Lake local or visiting, it’s fun to find out about local events and festivals. Here are a few things you might want to check out:

Video Games Live(tm)

During its five weeks of summer fun, it’s hard to beat the likes of the Xbox 360 tethered to your living room. For the most part, the console has been on display in the basement, the main dining room, or the living room, depending on your preference. The Xbox has been in the game since its inception in 2006, and judging by the number of famiglias I’ve witnessed, the Xbox clan is pretty close to the breed. The good times are aplenty as aforementioned players and guests take in all that the city has to offer, from gaming to golf, to the best of ye olde pub grub.

Chicago Fire v Real Salt Lake

MLS fans are in for a treat as Real Salt Lake takes on the Chicago Fire on Sunday at Soldier Field. In recent seasons, this fixture has been played between these two teams, and in the last 23 matches, Chicago has won eight times.

This match is the last time Chicago will play at home in 2021. Dave Checktts, a majority owner of Real Salt Lake, has said he will sell the team if no proposal is put forward.

Real Salt Lake is in good form in Major League Soccer. In their last five matches, they have won four of them. They have also recorded 42 percent of their wins against common opponents. They are now eighth in the Western Conference playoff field. They are still in a good position to qualify for the Final Series Play-offs.

Pride T Dance, SLC

Thriller SLC, Sky SLC, and Queen House Music host a circuit T-Dance party in Salt Lake City on the weekend of Pride. With professional dancers from LA, this circuit party is sure to be an incredible experience.

On June 3, the Rainbow Rally and Glow March will start at the Utah State Capitol and end at the Salt Lake City Library Plaza. The Rainbow Rally is a community event for the transgender and LGBTQ+ community.

The event will also feature a Pride themed storytime, where children can enjoy a special event designed to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. The Story Garden, which is located at the Utah State University campus, will include exhibits that showcase the history and culture of the LGBTQ+ community.

North Salt Lake’s Youth City Council’s annual Eaglewood Auto Fest

Despite the hype surrounding the North Salt Lake Youth City Council’s annual Eaglewood Auto Fest, the competition is stiff. However, the big dog still manages to ekes out a few victories here and there. In addition to the usual suspects, the sexes are up for the night. The competition is a tad tighter than usual, but the good ones are back in the saddle. Of course, if you are looking for a night of oh and shenanigans, then the aforementioned occupants will likely be at home. Nonetheless, you can expect a few night owls on a Friday night in the near future.
